Disable Join Room Audio

We have our Teams rooms set up and have created resource accounts for them so they appear when teachers wish to join room audio. The problem is students across campus could join a meeting, choose join room audio and pick a random room. Then the Crestron panel in that random room starts going off and interrupting class.

Any way we can restrict who can join room audio?

    Hi @Rogers, Kevin S

I did see how to change the settings on the Crestron panel audio so it doesn't use the room's sound bar. I've muted the volume on the panel so it doesn't audibly chime. That's a good workaround for now.

Great to see that you've found a good workaround for this and really appreciated it for your sharing!

By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others." and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A, I would make a brief summary of this thread:

    Hi @Rogers, Kevin S ,

Any way we can restrict who can join room audio?

As far as I know, I am afraid currently it's not feasible. There's no options or settings available in either the Teams admin side or the meeting organizer's side to restrict users from choosing the "Room Audio".

That have being said, I just tried submitting this via the dedicated feedback portal for Microsoft Teams. I'll leave the link below so that you or others who read this thread and have similar request can also vote or comment there:
    Disable Join "Room Audio"

In addition, for current situation, an option I can think of is to instruct the students in the Teams meeting invitation email. To do this, you'll need to prepare an image with some meeting instructions which includes Do not click the "Room Audio" option, then upload the image online and enter the image URL via Teams admin center > Meetings > Meeting settings > Email invitation > Logo URL, click Save and wait for a few hours for the change to take effect, see this link. Basically the effect would similar to as follows:
