Changed phone number and can't enter the security code now for my outlook email

I tried recovering it but it gets denied... do I have any other options? I need the phone number removed.

Can you log in to your outlook account now?

If you’d like to reset your password When you can’t sign in to your Microsoft account.

If you want to change the phone number that you use for verification
Sign in with your Microsoft account to Security.
Select Advanced security options, Under Ways to prove who you are, find the phone number you wish to change in your list of registered authentication methods, expand the section, and select Remove.

You can also trun off two-step verification under Additional Security.
