Azure Data Factory pricing

Hello....

I'm quite new with DATA FACTORY and a friend of mine asked me to help him with setting it up for his scenario. He wants to run "copy" activity from one File Shares to Blob Container......

Now... I was really surprised with the price that accumulated for him when he was just trying to play with it arund 2-3 weeks ago and then he left it like that. Yesterday, when I've checked COST for data factory, it was above 400£..... There were just two pipelines created, 4x datasets... trigger was configured to run every 5 minutes.... and there were just around 10 files that he was testing it with couple of weeks ago.... Since then, no new files were added or anything else changed.....

I was trying to understand the pricing but it is quite confusing..... First of all, I would not expect that with almost no data moved/copied, this service may cosume hudreds of £ monthly? Is it because it runs every 5 minutes? I just can't figure out why it accumulated such a high price...

Hi @michal , the pricing of Azure data factory depends on multiple factors such as no of DIU,CRUD operations and orchestration and

executions of pipelines, there is new ADF pipeline consumption report which list out costs and you can also leverage Azure pricing calculator to arrive at

In order to investigate further to understand why it charged 400£ for ADF, we need more details like cost Analysis of Azure Data Factory resources.

As I understand you've an issue with your billing, I recommend you to create a billing support ticket which is free of cost. The ticket enables you to work closely with the support engineers and get a quick resolution to your issue.

If you have questions or need help, create a support request and choose Issue type as “Billing” OR Call to “Global Customer Service phone numbers”.
