"About" tab is missing on Teams Client . How can I restore it back

One of a Team is missing the "About" tab from the middle pane of the Teams client for all the Teams members and Owners. How can I restore it? We have tried looking from the Web Version of Teams, deleting cache but it doesn't re-appear.

Hi @VivekVardhan-9872,

One of a Team is missing the "About" tab from the middle pane of the Teams client for all the Teams members and Owners.

As far as I know, by default there's no "About" tab in the channel of a team. I checked both the existent teams and a newly created team on my end, but cannot see any instance of "About" tab either:

Did I misunderstand anything here? And if possible, you can remove all personal information and share a screenshot of the "About" tab in other teams on your side for clarification.

Thanks for the reply @YukiSun-MSFT , Here is my screenshot of other Teams which have "About" Tab. Also, One way of getting the "About" feature is to click on the "I" (Information) button and it will show up. However, My requirement is to bring it to the middle pane Tab.

Hi @VivekVardhan-9872,

Thanks for the clarification.

One way of getting the "About" feature is to click on the "I" (Information) button and it will show up. However, My requirement is to bring it to the middle pane Tab.

Have you tried creating a new team or channel and see if the "About" tab would show up automatically?

This is a little weird as I haven't seen this tab in any Teams channel before. Also, according to the this document, the official and only way to view the channel information is as you said, clicking on the "i" (Information) button in the upper-right corner. So I am assuming if it's possible that the "About" tab you see on your end is actually another app. To confirm this, could you right click on the "About" tab and choose "About this tab" if it exists, see if more clues about the tab can be found.

Hi @VivekVardhan-9872,

I performed some more brainstorming and found that the "Website" app was blocked in the Teams Admin center due to which the "About" tab was missing. Since the "About / Wiki" tab is also a kind of website, the end-user was unable to view it through Teams client or Web.

Great to know that you've managed to sort it out and really appreciate it for your sharing!

By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others.". and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A, I would make a brief summary of this thread:

["About" tab is missing on Teams Client . How can I restore it back]

Issue Symptom:
"One of a Team is missing the "About" tab from the middle pane of the Teams client for all the Teams members and Owners."

You could click the "Accept Answer" button for this summary to close this thread, and this can make it easier for other community member's to see the useful information when reading this thread. Thanks!

Hello @YukiSun-MSFT, I had opened a case with Microsoft as well but didn't get any beneficial solution so far, I performed some more brainstorming and found that the "Website" app was blocked in the Teams Admin center due to which the "About" tab was missing. Since the "About / Wiki" tab is also a kind of website, the end-user was unable to view it through Teams client or Web.
