Hello,

I have an account in office365 with the right initial KB (Katherine B** C******) but in teams It appears with this
initial KC

When i click on on the user icon located in the upper right corner , I don't have the option to edit the profile.

Could you help me to modify the initial from teams

This is ridiculous. I enter meetings and no one knows who I am, I can't believe we can't change this

It's even worse when your network admins require you to have your middle initial as well, because it pulls the middle initial instead of the first name, so unless I also know the user's middle name, the initials Teams is using are completely irrelevent.

I found if you make an image with the initials you want and upload them as your profile picture, it will hide the initials that you don't want.

Wow talk about just cutting corners, being lazy, and not knowing how to follow a paradigm. I would question the QA manager on weather or not they are doing their job as they are supposed to make sure the usability of a product is following standards. This lack of not using the preferred initials is nothing more than a cost-savings-rush-out-the-door short cut because they hired engineers and then didn't make them follow the established coding paradigm. So I'm effectively never going to see my proper initials in any of these products. :(

It is clearly an anglo-centric (lazy) solution that erases identities from other parts of the world, particularly those of us that have two surnames, not double-barreled names, two separate surnames that are part of our identity and so we use our first surname as the second letter in a two-letters initials. I hope Microsoft one day amend this to be inclusive of +400 million Spanish speakers and others.

Even in the English speaking world this doesn't always work. I have a staff member with a St. Lastname - and her initials should be JS not JL - it ignores the St. --- putting a hyphen in her display name would not be the way I would want to fix this - as it still displays her name for people to see, and she doesn't want to be St.-Lastname.... It's ridiculous we can't set this.

Yes. As mentioned above, currently it is not possible to modify the initials in Teams.

Do you have the user display name as Katherine B* C* with blanks in Microsoft 365 admin center?
If yes, please try removing the block between B* and C* (modify it to be Katherine BC), remove Teams cache and restart Teams to see if it can work as a workaround for you.
I tested in my lab and it seems to work for me.

I just joined an MS Teams meeting and the initials against my name were not my initials.

How can I fix this?

My initials are NPW (if three letters are allowed) or NP (if only 2 letters are allowed). However, I am showing as HP on MS Teams.

Currently the initials of the Teams profile are based on the user display name in Office 365.
It cannot be modified in Teams.

I note that i can't modify in teams.

It is good in office 365 and i have the good initials witch is KB (first letter for the firstname and first letter for the last name)

There is no solution with the feedback threads you give me.
