Hi there, Here's the Free service > Windows Virtual Machine option to create a new resource. When setting "Size" I'm quoted for discs that are not free. How can this entire VM + storage be created for free? ![215705-image.png][1] [1]: /api/attachments/215705-image.png?platform=QnA Thanks! Rich

    Hi anonymous user

Thank you for asking this question on the **Microsoft Q&A Platform. **

As you say, storage is not free, it can be cheap with an HDD disk and a small disk size.

    But always will cost something.

    Hope this helps,

Hi - sorry, this went to the wrong inbox!

I am disappointed that this is referred to specifically as a free service - yes, the VM is free, but you're unable to run the VM without a storage (which cannot be free), and thus the reality is that the VM can't be free.

I'm honestly surprised that this is the case.

    Thanks,

    Rich
