Outlook 365 asking for password all the time suddenly

Dear Experts,

My Outlook 365 was working fine until at 02:19AM this morning. Now it keeps asking me for credentials even after I repeated the correct password, I've tried that password via OWA and it works just fine.

Any idea why this happened and how to get rid of it? I've also tried to repair my Office program, changed some registry keys as per googled instructions but to no avail. We have exchange online and I'm A3 license if that helped.

Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hey @Eaven HUANG ,
Considering OWA works for you but the desktop app does not I would begin by looking at this issue from the Desktop app side as apposed to an account issue.
I would recommend creating a new Outlook profile to see if that clears this issue for you.
First things first make sure to take note of the filepath for any psts you have attached to Outlook.
Here are the steps(on a Windows PC):

    1. navigate to the Control Panel.
    2. Within the control panel search for mail. Open Mail(Microsoft Outlook) or Mail(Microsoft Outlook 32 bit). Whichever you have.
    3. A new pop up window will come up named "Mail Setup". Within this Window select the Show Profiles button.
    4. this will open another pop up window named "Mail". Within this Window Hit the radio Dial for "Prompt for a profile to be used" under "When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile:".
    5. Hit the Add button.
    6. Go through the profile setup.
    7. Make sure to fully close Outlook through the Task Manager.
    8. Restart Outlook. You should be prompted to use your newly created profile. Make sure to select it.
    9. Wait for Outlook to set up your profile/OST.

Hopefully that resolves the issue. If not, another thing you can try is clearing the Outlook Cached data.

    1. Open a run box. Navigate to %appdata%
    2. Within Appdata/Roaming find the Microsoft folder.
    3. Within the Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft folder look for the Outlook folder. rename this folder to Outlook-Old
    4. Navigate to Appdata/Local/Microsoft and do the same to the Outlook folder found here.
    5. restart Outlook.

If this answer works for you please make sure to hit Accept answer.

    regards,
    Wes

    Hi Wes @Wes Brooks ,

Unluckily this didn't work for me. Eventually I had to remove all the Office suite, did a reboot then reinstall the whole Office 365 package, it works just fine now

Thanks a lot for your efforts all the same.
