Azure Integration Runtime auto-update issues

Hi,

We have an Azure integration Runtime "Self-Hosted" and the auto-update is set to On.

Is it possible that after an update of the Integration Runtime software on the Self-Hosted that could cause communication issues with Synapse ?

When you configure a Self-Hosted Integration Runtime, you must provide the Authentication Key that have been created in the Synapse Studio web page.

I ask the question because we had several communication issues between Synapse and the Integration runtime and it seems to happen after the Integration runtime on the Self-Hosted VM has been updated to the latest version.

Thanks

    Hello @cthivierge ,

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

My understanding is that you are noticing communication issues after updating the SHIR. Please correct if I'm wrong.

Could you please confirm if the issue happens only during or right after SHIR is upgraded and issue auto resolves after that or the issue persists consistently?

In general, if there are any bugs in the latest released version of SHIR then you might see issues, but if you are seeing communication issues everytime you upgrade the SHIR, then I assume it could be something else. Many factors may result in SHIR communication issues as SHIR is customer managed and not Azure managed.

In order to further troubleshoot the issue, I would recommend to please go through this troubleshooting guide and see if if provides any relevant information with respect to your scenario. But if you feel if didn't help, then I recommend filing a support ticket and share the SHIR logs by gathering them as mentioned in here: Gather self-hosted IR logs, so that the support engineer can take a deeper look in to SHIR logs to figure out the root cause and provide possible solution.

And in case if you don't have a support plan, please let me know here.

    Thank you
