Reputation points on forums generally help to increase engagement. I knew many people on the MSDN forums who were pushing themselves every year to earn more reputation points than the previous year. At the same time, it helps to identify who the active helpful users are and can help some get nominated for programs such as the Microsoft MVP award.
What's the benefit of reputation points?

2022-07-27T15:27:16.413+00:00 There is no benefit to reputation points other than showing other users that you have reputation on this forum.
As the name implies, Reputation points allow you to earn points based on quality contributions on Microsoft Q&A and use them as a way to show your reputation to other users.
You may be asking non-related questions or answering with unrelated answers as the only way to lose points is You have content reported for moderation.
