I am trying to connect to SAP ECC using ADF. We have activated the OData Service in SAP ECC, but when we enter the URL in the Linked serivce and test connection i get following error

Failed to create odata connection to RequestUrl.
An error occurred while sending the request.
The remote name could not be resolved: 'mmc-sapides01'

Can anyone guide on what could be the issue and how to solve it.

Thanks
Yeshwant

    Hello @Yeshwant Muralidhar ,
Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.
As we understand the ask here is how to connect the odata service and connet to OData Service in SAP ECC , please do let us know if its not accurate.
From the error details which you have pasted , it seems to me that the odata service is running locally/local network . If thats the case we need to use SHIR .

<< snippet from the link above >>

    Prerequisites

If your data store is located inside an on-premises network, an Azure virtual network, or Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, you need to configure a self-hosted integration runtime to connect to it.
If your data store is a managed cloud data service, you can use the Azure Integration Runtime. If the access is restricted to IPs that are approved in the firewall rules, you can add Azure Integration Runtime IPs to the allow list.
You can also use the managed virtual network integration runtime feature in Azure Data Factory to access the on-premises network without installing and configuring a self-hosted integration runtime.
For more information about the network security mechanisms and options supported by Data Factory, see Data access strategies.

Please do let me if you have any queries.
    Thanks
    Himanshu
