The agent needs a valid workspace ID and key. The installer you used may need a command argument or you may need to pull the installer MSI from your portal directly. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/agents/azure-monitor-agent-windows-client
Azure Monitor Agent Troubleshooting Tips?

Hi there,
I'm experimenting with the Azure Monitor Agent, since that's the recommended replacement for the old log analytics agent.
I have a windows 11 pc and I've downloaded the AMA agent from here and installed it.

However I'm seeing this error in the logs:
c:\resourcers\azure monitor agent\azuremoniutoragent.monitoringdatastore\configuration\
Info (2022-08-22T18:40:06Z): MonAgentManager.exe - Initializing McsManager using mcsRegionalEndpoint=mcs.azure.com,mcsGlobalEndpoint=https://global.handler.control.monitor.azure.com,azureResourceEndpoint=https://monitor.azure.com/,m_MonAgentVersion=45.11.01,customResourceId=,ManagedIdentity=,AADMode=true,aadClientId=2158f033-042b-4044-b4dc-8acd105cf31e,aadAuthority=https://login.microsoftonline.com,aadResource=https://monitor.azure.com/,proxyMode=none,proxyAddress=,proxyAuth=false
Error (2022-08-22T18:40:06Z): MonAgentManager.exe - Tenant and device ids retrieval failed with HRESULT 0x8000ffff
Any idea what that means or if there is any decent troubleshooting tips?
I can't find any reference for that ClentId (and I haven't set up any custom app registrations)
I've read all of the Microsoft Learn I can find but I can't find much there to help with this.
Thanks.

Hi @Udaiappa Ramachandran ,
That's likely some of the confusion, but yes I've gone through that:
I suspect there's some confusion around the domain component but I don't know any troubleshooting steps for that.
