As a Microsoft Q&A moderator, you have the ability to translate questions, answers, and comments between English and other languages. Also, when using this feature, responses provided in English will be translated back into the language used by the question author.
Prerequisites
- You need to be signed into Q&A.
- You need to be a moderator in Q&A.
Limitations
- The base language is English.
- Only languages supported in Q&A will be translated. Refer to the list here.
- On average, there is a 5 minute delay from when the question is created to when the translation is available. Some languages might take up to an hour for translation.
Using automatic translation
To use this feature, simply monitor the community as usual. When a user posts a question or comment in a non-English language, click on the translate icon to convert the entire question thread into English. When you or another expert responds in English, the response will be translated back into the language used by the question author. This ensures that all participants can understand and engage with the content, regardless of their language proficiency.
Experience feedback
If you have any feedback regarding your experience using auto translation, share it by utilizing the Microsoft Q&A tag.
