ResolveNameEventHandler Delegate

Definition

Represents the method that handles the ResolveName event of a serialization manager.

C#
public delegate void ResolveNameEventHandler(object sender, ResolveNameEventArgs e);
C#
public delegate void ResolveNameEventHandler(object? sender, ResolveNameEventArgs e);

Parameters

sender
Object

The source of the event.

e
ResolveNameEventArgs

A ResolveNameEventArgs that contains the event data.

Examples

The following code example attaches a ResolveNameEventHandler to the ResolveName event of a specified IDesignerSerializationManager.

C#
public void LinkResolveNameEvent(
        IDesignerSerializationManager serializationManager)
{
    // Registers an event handler for the ResolveName event.
    serializationManager.ResolveName +=
        new ResolveNameEventHandler(this.OnResolveName);
}

private void OnResolveName(object sender, ResolveNameEventArgs e)
{
    // Displays ResolveName event information on the console.
    Console.WriteLine("Name of the name to resolve: "+e.Name);
    Console.WriteLine("ToString output of the object that no name was resolved for: "+e.Value.ToString());
}

Remarks

This delegate is used by the IDesignerSerializationManager to resolve object names during serialization and deserialization.

When you create a ResolveNameEventHandler delegate, you identify the method that will handle the event. To associate the event with your event handler, add an instance of the delegate to the event. The event handler is called whenever the event occurs, unless you remove the delegate. For more information about event-handler delegates, see Handling and Raising Events.

Extension Methods
