The SubjectIdentifierOrKeyType enumeration defines how a subject is identified.

| Unknown | 0 | The type is unknown. |
| IssuerAndSerialNumber | 1 | The subject is identified by the certificate issuer and serial number. |
| SubjectKeyIdentifier | 2 | The subject is identified by the hash of the subject key. |
| PublicKeyInfo | 3 | The subject is identified by the public key. |
