HierarchicalDataSourceControl.OnDataSourceChanged(EventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the DataSourceChanged event.

C#
protected virtual void OnDataSourceChanged(EventArgs e);

Parameters

e
EventArgs

An EventArgs that contains event data.

Remarks

The OnDataSourceChanged method notifies a data-bound control that the underlying data source or the data cached in memory has changed, that the control should rebind, and that any necessary work should be performed.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnDataSourceChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnDataSourceChanged(EventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnDataSourceChanged(EventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
