GridView.OnRowUpdated(GridViewUpdatedEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the RowUpdated event.

C#
protected virtual void OnRowUpdated(System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewUpdatedEventArgs e);

Parameters

e
GridViewUpdatedEventArgs

A GridViewUpdatedEventArgs that contains event data.

Remarks

The RowUpdated event is raised when a row's Update button is clicked, but after the GridView control updates the row. This enables you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as checking the results of the update operation, whenever this event occurs.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnRowUpdated method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnRowUpdated(GridViewUpdatedEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnRowUpdated(GridViewUpdatedEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
