Geometry.GetFlattenedPathGeometry Method

Definition

Gets a PathGeometry that is a polygonal approximation of the Geometry object.

Overloads

GetFlattenedPathGeometry()

Gets a PathGeometry that is a polygonal approximation of the Geometry object.

GetFlattenedPathGeometry(Double, ToleranceType)

Gets a PathGeometry, within the specified tolerance, that is a polygonal approximation of the Geometry object.

GetFlattenedPathGeometry()

Gets a PathGeometry that is a polygonal approximation of the Geometry object.

C#
public System.Windows.Media.PathGeometry GetFlattenedPathGeometry();

Returns

The polygonal approximation of the Geometry.

Remarks

This method uses the default tolerance factor (described by the StandardFlatteningTolerance property) when processing the geometry. To specify your own tolerance factor, use the GetFlattenedPathGeometry method.

Some Geometry methods (such as GetFlattenedPathGeometry) produce or use a polygonal approximation of the geometry. The tolerance factor specifies the maximum distance between points in this polygonal approximation. Smaller tolerance values produce better approximations, but require more processing than an approximation with a large tolerance factor.

Applies to

.NET Framework 4.8.1 and other versions
Product Versions
.NET Framework 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8, 4.8.1
Windows Desktop 3.0, 3.1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

GetFlattenedPathGeometry(Double, ToleranceType)

Gets a PathGeometry, within the specified tolerance, that is a polygonal approximation of the Geometry object.

C#
[System.Security.SecurityCritical]
public virtual System.Windows.Media.PathGeometry GetFlattenedPathGeometry(double tolerance, System.Windows.Media.ToleranceType type);
C#
public virtual System.Windows.Media.PathGeometry GetFlattenedPathGeometry(double tolerance, System.Windows.Media.ToleranceType type);

Parameters

tolerance
Double

The maximum bounds on the distance between points in the polygonal approximation of the geometry. Smaller values produce more accurate results but cause slower execution. If tolerance is less than .000001, .000001 is used instead.

type
ToleranceType

One of the ToleranceType values that specifies whether the tolerance factor is an absolute value or relative to the area of the geometry.

Returns

The polygonal approximation of the Geometry.
