There are two plans available for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Essentials
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Premium
These plans give your organization more flexibility and options for sustainability reporting and management that align with your unique goals. They provide tailored solutions to empower your organization on its sustainability journey. This article provides a high-level overview of the features and capabilities of both plans and the updated trial experience. It helps you understand which plan best suits your sustainability reporting and management needs.
Features included in each plan
The following table shows which features are available with each plan and the trial version.
x - included, c - consumption-based, p - platform only for custom build (no capacity).
Trial experience
We updated the trial experience based on the Dynamics 365 Sustainability plans. When you sign up for a new Dynamics 365 Sustainability trial, you now get access to most features in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Premium for 30 days.
After the trial period, if you acquire licenses for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Premium, you can convert to production.
If you purchase Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Essentials, premium data doesn't display in your environment. The data for the premium features isn't removed, but it's no longer visible. If you purchase Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Premium after November 1, 2023, you can get functionality added back by updating your environment via the Power Platform admin center.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Essentials customer capabilities
With Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Essentials, you have access to emissions data for premium categories (Scope 3 category 10, 11, 14, and 15), including ingestion of precalculated emissions. Ingestion and calculation capabilities using the underlying activity and reference data sets are part of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Premium and aren't available in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Essentials.
The activity and reference data for these categories aren't deleted.
Reporting and insights pages don't show any previously imported activity data and associated calculated emissions for premium data sets for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Essentials customers.
Licensing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability
Customers require two SKUs for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability solution. Each tenant is required to deploy the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability SKU, which is a tenant level SKU. Additionally, for each user in the tenant the customer is required to deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability USL, which is a user level-based SKU.
Note
When a tenant license is purchased, customers are able to deploy multiple environment types, including developer, sandbox, and production. When deploying multiple environments, it's important to continue to monitor Dataverse capacity.
Power Apps and Power Automate use rights are included in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability USL SKU. These use rights are limited to the context of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability.
Upgrade process
The upgrade process is handled through licensing. Customers who choose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sustainability Premium can add new features via the Power Platform admin center.
