In April 2021, the European Commission adopted a legislative proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The directive requires companies within its scope to report on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters using a double materiality perspective in compliance with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

To help you understand and explore the data required for CSRD reporting, Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability includes a CSRD draft premium template in Purview Compliance Manager.

Important

Because the ESRS data points are in public consultation from European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG), the template represents draft data points that are subject to change. Compliance Manager helps you assess and manage compliance across your environment. Compliance Manager can help you with the following tasks throughout your compliance journey:

  • Take inventory of your data protection risks
  • Manage the complexities of implementing controls
  • Stay current with regulations and certifications
  • Report to auditors

To learn more about Compliance Manager, go to Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager.

With CSRD, the solution is extended to support sustainability reporting regulations.
