In this module, you learned that serial and batch numbers provide companies with the ability to trace their products through the system.
You can assign serial numbers, batch numbers, or both to an inventory item. Serial numbers are assigned to individual products, and batch numbers are assigned to a set of products.
Additionally, you learned how to set up inventory management product elements in the Inventory and Warehouse management module in Supply Chain Management, as well as how to use the inventory journals.
