Microsoft Marketplace purchasing
Alignment to Azure
Purchases through Microsoft Marketplace align to Azure account billing for customers with either a Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) or an Enterprise Agreement (EA). You may also buy directly and pay with your credit card (up to certain limits) or activate an Azure subscription through a Microsoft Online Services Program.
Supported regions and currencies
The price customers see on Microsoft Marketplace will default to United States dollars (USD) when unauthenticated. When authenticated, the local market price will be displayed in that market’s assigned currency. Marketplace supports transactions in 141 markets and 16 currencies.
Your billing currency refers to the currency specified in your organization's customer agreement with Microsoft.
Your market currency is based on the legal business address provided when creating your account.
To understand the market currency in each global market, see geographic availability and currency support for Microsoft Marketplace.
Important
If your organization's billing currency isn't the same as your market currency, the price will get converted to your billing currency using the monthly exchange rate at time of billing.
How pricing is calculated
When a software company creates an offer priced in USD, Microsoft automatically converts the USD price for every available market and currency, using the monthly exchange rate at the moment the offer is first saved in Partner Center.
For public prices: the exchange rate and market prices aren't recalculated unless the software company initiates a price change. Learn more about the impact and timing of prices changes.
For private offer prices: once the private offer is accepted by the customer, the market price will remain the same for the duration of the private offer. Purchasing via a private offer isn't supported when customer billing currency doesn't match market currency. In this scenario, software companies can create a private plan for your organization.
Note
The local market price remains static and doesn't automatically change in response to exchange rate fluctuations.
Monthly foreign exchange rates
Microsoft calculates market prices and billing amounts based on monthly foreign exchange rates sourced from **WMR FX Benchmarks, **London 4pm Closing Spot Rates, three business days before the end of the previous month. For example, the rate from April 28, 2026, is applied to determine the exchange rate applied to May 2026 transactions.

Find the same rates Microsoft uses on the Financial Times site
Microsoft is prohibited from publishing WMR FX Benchmarks rates. Financial Times makes them available as part of a subscription. To subscribe:
- Register for a paid subscription at Markets data.
- Scroll to Daily reports from the Financial Times print edition, select a date, and download the PDF for World Markets at a Glance.
Note
The date you select is the day the newspaper published. The rates you then download are from one day earlier. So, for example, Friday's edition of the Financial Times contains Thursday's closing spot rates.
