Agents powered by the Customer Conversation harness in Microsoft Copilot Studio use the Deploy page to move your agent from development into channels that other users can access.
What Deploy means
Deploy is the page where you publish your agent and connect it to channels, such as a demo website, a live website, or Teams Phone. When you publish your agent, Copilot Studio creates a prebuilt demo website automatically so you can start testing right away, then connect additional channels as your agent is ready for them.
Unlike a separate publish step followed by a separate channel-configuration step, the Deploy page combines both: publishing your agent and configuring the channel it's available through happen from the same place.
Deploy workflow overview
Deploying typically follows this flow:
- Build your agent by configuring its identity, instructions, knowledge, tools, and other capabilities.
- Preview/Test the draft to verify responses, grounding, tool use, and overall behavior.
- Deploy the agent from the Deploy page to publish it and connect it to a channel, starting with the automatically created demo website.
- Distribute the agent further by configuring additional channels, such as a live website or Teams Phone, when it's ready for customers.
