Publishing your agents on the WhatsApp channel opens new markets for conversational and generative experiences. The integration of the WhatsApp channel into the available channels for publishing in Copilot Studio makes your agent makers more efficient and reduces the time to get your agent in front of customers. Agent makers can focus on creating agents, not on creating and configuring a new app or pipeline for their deployment.

By introducing the WhatsApp channel in Copilot Studio, your makers can deploy their agents into WhatsApp in a few clicks.

The WhatsApp channel uses Azure Communication Services (ACS) as the bridge between the agents you create in Copilot Studio and your WhatsApp endpoint, the chat or group that the users of your agent will use to interact with the agent.

When you publish an agent to WhatsApp (after obtaining and connecting a WhatsApp for Business account to ACS), Copilot Studio fetches your WhatsApp configuration from ACS and lets you choose the number or endpoint where your agent should appear.
