Date Pickers

The date picker provides a calendar month display that enables the user to accurately select a date while ensuring the required date format. On Windows Mobile-base Pocket PCs, place the date picker control near the top of an application screen to prevent it from being forced off the screen when the input panel is displayed.

State Attributes

The following illustrations show the date picker states for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC and Smartphone devices.

Label Attributes

Keep labels brief to conserve space.

For Windows Mobile–based Pocket PC devices, use the 8pt Tahoma black font and sentence capitalization.

For Windows Mobile–based Smartphone devices, use the 11pt Segoe font and sentence capitalization.

Development Considerations

When developing an application, consider the following for the date picker:

The date picker is not a standard control.
Because this can be an editable control, place it near the top of the screen to prevent it from being forced off the screen when the SIP is displayed.
