FONT XHTML Element

The FONT element specifies a new font, size, and color to be used for rendering the enclosed text. This element requires a closing tag.

Using this Element

This element can be used within a web page with attributes.

This element can be used within scripts where it will have properties, events and methods.

Attributes

Attribute Value PPC SP Description
COLOR Special Yes Yes Sets the color for rendered text. Font colors are disabled on grayscale devices; text is always rendered in black.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

color: {color};
FACE Special Yes Yes Specifies a comma-separated list of font names in which the text is rendered.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

font-family: {font};
SIZE 1...7

3 (default)

Yes Yes Specifies an integer font size — can also be a relative font size with a signed integer value, size="+1", or size="-2". This is mapped to an absolute font size by adding the current BASEFONT SIZE attribute.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

font-size: {font};
