Attributes

Attribute

Description

connectionStringName

Required String attribute.

Sets the connection string name for the database. References a connection string in the connectionStrings Element (ASP.NET Settings Schema) configuration section.

name

Required String attribute.

The name of the SqlCacheDependencyDatabase object to add to the configuration collection.

This name is used as part of the SqlDependency attribute on the @ OutputCache directive.

pollTime

Optional Int32 attribute.

Sets the frequency in milliseconds with which the SqlCacheDependency polls the database table for changes.

system.web

Specifies the root element for the ASP.NET configuration settings in a configuration file. Contains configuration elements that configure ASP.NET Web applications and control how the applications behave.

caching

Configures the cache settings for a Web application.

sqlCacheDependency

Defines the settings used by the SqlCacheDependency class.

databases

Contains one or more named SQL connections that can be used by the SqlCacheDependency.

Remarks

Default Configuration

The following default add element is not explicitly configured in the machine configuration file or in the root Web.config file but is the default configuration returned by an application in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Example

The following example adds a SqlCacheDependencyDatabase object to an ASP.NET application.
