Totaling Type Field, Acc. Schedule Line Table

Specifies the totaling type for the account schedule line. The type determines which accounts within the totaling interval you specify in the Totaling field will be totaled.

Option Description

Posting Accounts

The total will be calculated from amounts in posting accounts in the chart of accounts.

Total Accounts

The total will be calculated from amounts in total and end-total accounts in the chart of accounts.

Formula

The total will be calculated from amounts in other rows in the account schedule. You enter the formula in the Totaling field.

Set Base For Percent

You use this option if you want to insert a column that displays the percentage of a total. (For example, if Rows 1-4 display Sales for four different offices, and Row 5 displays Total Sales, then you can insert a column to show Percentage of Total Sales for each row.) Insert a row with Totaling Type = Set Base for Percent to define the total. The formula in the Totaling field on this line will be used to calculate the total, on which the percentages will be based. This line will not appear on Account Schedule reports.

Cost Type

The total will be calculated from amounts in posting accounts in the chart of cost accounts.

Cost Type Total

The total will be calculated from amounts in total and end-total accounts in the chart of cost accounts.

Cash Flow Posting Accounts

The total will be calculated from amounts in posting accounts in the chart of cash flow accounts.

Cash Flow Total Accounts

The total will be calculated from amounts in total and end-total accounts in the chart of cash flow accounts.

If you use the Insert Accounts function, accounts that have the Account Type Total or End-Total on the chart of accounts will be assigned the totaling type Total Accounts. All other lines will automatically be assigned the totaling type Posting Accounts.
