Getting Started > Mailbox Folders

To see your mailbox folders, use the control in the navigation pane to view and select folders. The mailbox folders displayed by default include Calendar, Contacts, Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Junk E-Mail, and Sent Items. You can use Click to view all folders to display a list of all folders, including any personal folders you've created.

Each item in the folder list links to a folder. Clicking Drafts, for example, displays messages you've created and saved but not sent. Clicking Inbox displays the items in your Inbox.

If there are new, unopened items in a folder, the number of new items appears in parentheses next to that folder.

How do I work with folders?

Your mailbox contains folders with specific functions for handling your e-mail messages. These folders include Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Junk E-Mail, and Sent Items.

You can create additional folders to organize messages into different categories, like "Urgent" or "Personal", or you can organize messages according to project. You can manage folders by creating, deleting, moving, and copying folders to suit your needs.

To display the contents of a folder, click the folder. All the items in that folder are listed in the main display area.
