Change the Number to Call When You Use the Play on Phone Feature

You can change the phone number you want the voice mail system to call you at when you use the Play on Phone feature. After you've entered a phone number on the Voice mail tab in the Outlook Web App Options, you can click the Play on Phone button in a voice message, and the voice mail system will call you so you can listen to the message. This phone number is also used when you click Call me to play or record the selected greeting to play or record a personalized greeting.

How do I change the number that's called when I click the Play on Phone button?

  1. In Outlook Web App, click Options > Phone > Voice Mail tab.
  2. Under Play on Phone, in the box, enter the phone number you want the voice mail system to call.

What else do I need to know?

  • The Play on Phone feature is used when you click the Play on Phone button in a voice mail message when you're using Outlook 2010 or Outlook Web App. It's also used when you click Call me to play or record the selected greeting.
  • You can use different formats when you enter the phone number. For example, any of the following formats can be used:
    • 425-555-1234
    • (425) 555-1234
    • +1 425 555-1234
    • +1 (425) 555-1234
