IWMSPublishingPoint::get_AllowPlayerSideDiskCaching
The get_AllowPlayerSideDiskCaching method retrieves a Boolean value that indicates whether the publishing point allows clients to cache content locally whenever the bandwidth of the connection exceeds the encoded bit rate of the on-demand content. This allows the player to minimize the effects of temporary reductions in network throughput.
Syntax
HRESULT get_AllowPlayerSideDiskCaching( VARIANT_BOOL* pVal );
Parameters
pVal
[out] Pointer to a VARIANT_BOOL that indicates whether the publishing point allows clients to cache content locally. By default, this parameter is VARIANT_TRUE.
Return Values
If the method succeeds, it returns S_OK. If it fails, it returns an HRESULT error code.
Return code | Number | Description |
E_POINTER | 0x80004003 | Indicates that pVal is a NULL pointer argument. |
NS_E_PUBLISHING_POINT_REMOVED | 0xC00D145AL | Indicates that the publishing point was already removed. |
