The navigator object contains information about the browser.

Properties

Property Data type Access Description
appCodeName String Read-only Retrieves the code name of the browser. The value is always "Mozilla".
appName String Read-only Retrieves the name of the browser.
appVersion String Read-only Retrieves the platform and version of the browser.
Note   For Smartphone 2002 and Pocket PC 2002 software and earlier, this value is always "2.0 (compatible: MSIE 3.02; Windows CE)".
For Windows Mobile 2003 software, this value is always "4.0 (compatible: MSIE 4.01; Windows CE)".
platform String Read-only Retrieves the platform of the browser. The value is always "WinCE".
Note   Supported only for devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software or later.
userAgent String Read-only Retrieves a string equivalent to the HTTP user-agent request header.
Note   For Pocket PC 2000 the value is always "Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; 240x320)".
For Smartphone 2002 and Pocket PC 2002, the value is always "Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320)".
For Windows Mobile 2003, the value is always "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; ScreenRes)".
ScreenRes represents the actual resolution of the device, which can vary beginning with devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software; it is usually 240x320 or 480x640.
Note   For Smartphone 2002 the value is always "Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220)".
For Windows Mobile 2003, the value is always "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; ScreenRes)".
ScreenRes represents the actual resolution of the device, which can vary beginning with devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software; it is usually 176x220 or 240x320.

Methods

Method Syntax Description
javaEnabled Enabled=javaEnabled Returns whether JavaScript is enabled. This always returns False on Internet Explorer Mobile.
taintEnabled Enabled=taintEnabled Returns whether data tainting is enabled. This always returns False on Internet Explorer Mobile.
