Installing the Resolver Service Sample

This section describes the process for installing the Resolver Service sample. The Resolver Service depends on the Microsoft ESB Guidance core solution. Installing the Microsoft ESB Guidance core automatically copies and installs the core assemblies required by this sample to the correct locations.

Note

If you deployed the core solution from the Microsoft ESB release components, you must Install the Sample Business Rules Engine Policies and VocabulariesBEFORE you install this sample. These policies will reside in a BizTalk application named GlobalBank.ESB.

To install the Resolver Service sample from the solution project

1. In Windows Explorer, open the \Source\Samples\ResolverService\Install folder.
2. If you have alreadybuilt the Microsoft ESB Guidance from the source code, double-click the script file named 1.CreateBizTalkApplication.cmd.
3. If you have not already built the Microsoft ESB Guidance from the source code, and are using the release version of the Microsoft ESB Guidance components, double-click the script file named 1.CreateBizTalkApplication_FromRelease.cmd.
4. The scripts in steps 2 and 3 perform the following tasks:
   • Compile the ESB.ResolverService.Test.Client project, which contains the sample client application.
   • The script used in step 2 also deploys the ResolveEndpoint and ResolveMap policies to the GloablBank.ESB application.
5. To confirm successful installation of the sample, or if you are encountering issues when you run applications, you can use the list provided in the following table to check for the presence of the required assemblies and other artifacts.
