Discovery Data Records

One of the basic functions of SMS is to discover resources on your system, such as computers, software, and user groups. However, resource discovery is not limited to resources found on the network; a resource is any object that can potentially be managed by SMS. SMS lets you create your own discovery agent that can discover new or existing resources. You use discovery data record (DDR) to do this.
