Select text
You can quickly select a single word, line of text, or multiple paragraphs while you work in either Design view or Code view. Keyboard shortcuts also let you select text starting from your cursor to most any other point in your web page.
Tip
You can quickly select all of the text and other content that resides between a set of tags, or also select the tags or only the tags, by using the Quick Tag Selector bar. For more information, see Quick Tag Selector.
To select text
- In either the Design view or Code view of the Web page, do one of the following.

Point to the left of the line until the pointer changes to an arrow that points slightly right , and then click. |

Point to the left of the paragraphs until the pointer changes to an arrow that points slightly right , and then drag up or down. |
One character at a time from your cursor |
Press SHIFT+ either RIGHT ARROW or LEFT ARROW for each character you want to select. |
One word at a time from your cursor |
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ either RIGHT ARROW or LEFT ARROW for each word you want to select. |
From your cursor to the start or end of the line |
Press SHIFT+ either HOME or END. |
From your cursor to the start or end of the paragraph |
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ either UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW. |
From your cursor to the point directly above or below it |
Press SHIFT+ either UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW. |
From your cursor to one screen up or down |
Press SHIFT+ either PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN. |
