How to: Manage Favorites Items (Team System Web Access)

You can use Team System Web Access to rename, move, and remove items in favorites. Favorites can contain shortcuts to queries, work items, and reports. You can also use favorites to quickly access team project nodes that you frequently use.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Team Foundation Valid Users security group. If the necessary security permissions are set explicitly, you must have the View project-level information permission for the team project set to Allow. To rename a Favorites folder

  1. In the Team System Web Access quick launch area, click the arrow next to Favorites, and then click Organize Favorites.

  2. Point to a folder that you want to rename, click the arrow, and then click Rename.

    Note

    The Rename command is available only if you have created at least one folder in the Favorites tree.

  3. In the Rename Favorite Item dialog box, type a new name for the folder, and then click OK.

To delete a Favorites list item

  1. In the Team System Web Access quick launch area, click the arrow next to Favorites, and click Organize Favorites.

  2. Click the arrow next to an item that you want to remove and then click Remove from Favorites.

  3. Click OK to confirm that the item is to be removed from favorites.

To move a Favorites list item to an existing Favorites folder

  1. In the Team System Web Access quick launch area, click the arrow next to Favorites, and then click Organize Favorites.

  2. Click the arrow next to an item that you want to move and then click Move to Folder.

  3. In the Move favorite item dialog box, click the folder to which you want to move the favorite item.

  4. Click Move.

To move a Favorites list item to a newly created folder

  1. In the Team System Web Access quick launch area, click the arrow next to Favorites, and then click Organize Favorites.

  2. Click the arrow next to an item that you want to move and then click Move to Folder.

  3. In the Move favorite item dialog box, click the folder where you want to create a new folder and to which you want to move the favorite item.

  4. Click New Folder.

  5. In the New Folder dialog box, type a name for the new folder, and then click OK.

  6. In the Move favorite item dialog box, click the new folder that you created and then click Move.
