WSTrustServiceContract.FixMessageElement Method

[Starting with the .NET Framework 4.5, Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) has been fully integrated into the .NET Framework. The version of WIF addressed by this topic, WIF 3.5, is deprecated and should only be used when developing against the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or the .NET Framework 4. For more information about WIF in the .NET Framework 4.5, also known as WIF 4.5, see the Windows Identity Foundation documentation in the .NET Framework 4.5 Development Guide.]

During WSDL generation, this method fixes a specified operation message element to refer to the RST and RSTR elements of the appropriate WS-Trust version.

Namespace: Microsoft.IdentityModel.Protocols.WSTrust
Assembly: Microsoft.IdentityModel (in Microsoft.IdentityModel.dll)

Usage

'Usage
Dim serviceDescription As ServiceDescription
Dim portType As PortType
Dim context As WsdlEndpointConversionContext
Dim operationName As String
Dim inputMessageElement As XmlQualifiedName
Dim outputMessageElement As XmlQualifiedName

Me.FixMessageElement(serviceDescription, portType, context, operationName, inputMessageElement, outputMessageElement)

protected:

    portType : PortType,
    context : WsdlEndpointConversionContext,
    operationName : String,
    inputMessageElement : XmlQualifiedName,
    outputMessageElement : XmlQualifiedName
)

Parameters

  • serviceDescription
The ServiceDescription that has the current state of the exported WSDL.
  • portType
The WSDL PortType for which the messages are to be fixed.
  • context
Provides mappings from exported WSDL elements to the endpoint description.
  • operationName
The operation name inside the PortType.

Exceptions

Exception type Condition
ArgumentNullException

serviceDescription is null.

-or-

portType is null.

-or-

inputMessageType is null.

-or-

outputMessageType is null.

ArgumentException

operationName is null or Empty.

Remarks

The WS-Trust Contract exposed by the WIF framework takes a Message in and returns a Message out. But WS-Trust messages expect an RST and return an RSTR/RSTRC. This method fixes the message names with the appropriate WS-Trust messages specified by the XML qualified names in inputMessageElement and outputMessageLement.
