The components that you add to a configuration determine the functionality of the run-time image that you build. Some components are added to a configuration manually. Others are added during the processes of dependency checking.
Note If you used Windows XP Embedded Target Analyzer to identify your hardware requirements, the hardware components for your device can be added to a configuration in one of two ways. For more information, see Identify Target Device Hardware in Windows XP Embedded Help.
To add a component to a configuration manually
In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, open the configuration.
Find the component in the component browser.
To simplify your search, you can apply a filter to the component browser or use the search tool.
Right-click the component and choose Add.
The component is added to the configuration editor and its properties are displayed in the details pane.
