Simplified Chinese MSPY 3.0 IME (Compact 2013)

3/28/2014

The Microsoft Pinyin (MSPY) Input Method Editor (IME) 3.0 in Windows Embedded Compact is an IME for Simplified Chinese text input. MSPY 3.0 accepts input in bigrams, which are words composed of two letters each.

Functionality supported by MSPY 3.0 includes:

  • Double Spelling (Shuang Pin) Input Method   On-screen keyboard that supports Double Spelling (Shuang Pin) input. This input method provides a phonetic input model that requires fewer keystrokes to input Simplified Chinese characters.
  • End User-Defined Phrase (EUDP)   By using EUDP, users can select a commonly used phrase inline. Users select the phrase in the composition string and then press the ENTER key if they are using a hardware keyboard or click the Phrase button if they are using the Shuang Ping on-screen keyboard. EUDP support is configurable through the ModeConfig registry key.
  • Persists words or strings in memory   MSPY 3.0 maintains information about user modifications in the text composition window and adjusts the occurrence frequency of a specific word or string that is entered by the user whenever applicable.

MSPY 3.0 also supports the following configurable options:

  • Displaying the accelerator in the candidate list.
  • Displaying the MSPY 3.0 status window.
  • Selecting either the horizontal or vertical candidate list.
  • Setting the default input mode.
  • Auto-switching the input mode according to the state of the software-based input panel (SIP).
  • Displaying the Property button for users to modify configurable properties.
  • Customizing shortcut keys.
