Notes

Because users of Windows Embedded Standard 7 devices are not typically provided with installation discs, users of a device that includes this package are not able to create a system repair disc. A "Windows installation disc" is required to create a system repair disc.

The restore features that support recovering the system either by restoring from a system image or by reinstalling Windows do not work unless the device also includes a recovery image. Clicking Recover system settings or your computer from the Backup and Restore item on Control Panel and then clicking Advanced recovery methods results in an error message stating "Could not find recovery files."

While it is technically possible, it is generally unnecessary to include the Backup and Restore features on a volume that is also being protected with File-Based Write Filter (FBWF) or Enhanced Write Filter with HORM (EWF), and so we do not recommend doing so.
