Install Windows Fax and Scan

You can use Windows Fax and Scan on a fax server to view the fax activity in the Incoming, Inbox, and Outbox folders.

To install Windows Fax and Scan

  1. Click Start, and then click Server Manager.

  2. In the left pane click Features, and then in the right pane click Add Features.

  3. In the Add Features Wizard, on the Select Features page, select the Desktop Experience check box, and then click Next.

  4. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install.

  5. The Desktop Experience feature is installed. To complete the installation, your server must be restarted. If there is an error during the installation, it will be noted on the Installation Results page.

Additional considerations

To install Fax components, you must be a member of the Administrators group or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
