I truly regret signing up for an outlook account and purchasing any product that comes with MSN or Microsoft products installed on my computer. How do I delete it? All of the big tech companies have highjacked my freedom to choose which content I want on my computer. All of you appear to be on a mission to serve up as much woke nonsense as possible. I want to opt out from your preprogrammed woke news, media, products, images...

Microsoft gives you control to make your Microsoft Edge home page and new tab page look as you like.

This is how Microsoft Edge looks for me:

To get the same (or a similar) result, click on the gear icon I circled in green and make your choices.

If you want to choose your own home page or new tab page, just ask. It's easy and I'll gladly show you.

    Hi Jennifer,

I understand that you want more control over what appears on your computer, especially the MSN/Microsoft Start news feed in Microsoft Edge. You do not need to keep the news feed visible if you do not want to see it.

If this is appearing on the Microsoft Edge new tab page, please try these steps:

    • Open Microsoft Edge.
    • Open a new tab.
    • Select the Page settings gear icon on the new tab page.
    • Look for the Content or feed setting.
    • Change it to Content off or turn off the feed/news content.

If MSN opens when Edge starts, you can also change what Edge opens on startup:

    • Open Edge Settings.
    • Go to Start, home, and new tabs.
    • Under When Edge starts, choose a different option, such as opening a new tab page or a specific page you prefer.
    • Also check the Home button setting if MSN opens when you select Home.

If the news is coming from the Windows 11 taskbar/widgets area instead of Edge, you can turn off Widgets by going to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar, then turning Widgets off. If your Widgets panel has a feed setting, you can also turn off the Microsoft Start/feed option there.

I hope these steps help you regain control over what appears in Microsoft Edge and make your Windows 11 experience feel cleaner and less distracting. Wishing you a smoother browsing experience with the content and settings adjusted the way you prefer.

To remove or hide MSN-style news content in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11, adjust the Edge start page and news feed settings.

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. On the default start page (the page that shows news), select the settings cog icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
    3. To mostly hide the news feed:
      • Select Focused mode.
      • This hides the feed from the main view; the feed is only visible if scrolling down.
    4. To turn the news feed off entirely:
      • Select Custom mode.
      • Under content options, choose Content Off.
      • This removes the MSN news feed from the default homepage and new tab page.

If using an older version of Microsoft Edge:

    1. On the Edge default homepage, select the Hide Feed link at the top-right of the page.
    2. On the customization page that opens, under Page Display Settings, choose either Top Sites or A Blank Page to turn off the news feed.
    3. To re-enable later, select Top Sites and My Feed.

These steps remove MSN news content from Edge’s start and new-tab experience on the device.
