As the Windows 10 Team edition OS reaches End of Support on October 14, 2025, Microsoft recommends organizations begin planning and budgeting for device upgrades or alternative conferencing solutions. Although Surface Hub v1 might still function with that OS, Microsoft no longer provides hardware support for these devices. In addition to the OS and hardware being unsupported, Teams functionality will also be impacted:
- Microsoft Teams Rooms and the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal will also stop supporting Windows 10 after this date.
- The Microsoft Teams app (that preceded Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows) has been deprecated and will no longer be accessible on Surface Hub devices running Windows 10 Team edition after October 14, 2025. To learn more, see Microsoft Teams App End of Availability on Surface Hub v1 and 2S Running Windows 10 Team edition.
For continued use of Surface Hub v1, consider using Replacement PC Mode by connecting an external PC. However, this workaround doesn't extend the device’s hardware support lifespan. Transitioning to newer solutions, such as Surface Hub 3, ensures your organization maintains optimal performance, security, and support.
To avoid disruption, we recommend completing the transition before Windows 10 Team edition support ends in October 2025. For guidance on available upgrade options and planning assistance, contact your Surface device reseller or Microsoft support representative.
