Exercise - Activate a Store Commerce for web terminal

You are the System administrator of your organization and, after creating a new register and device for the Houston store in the previous exercise, you need to activate a Store Commerce for web terminal for worker 000001.

  1. In the USRT company, go to Retail and Commerce > Employees > Workers.
  2. In the list, go to worker 000001.
  3. In the Commerce tab in the Action Pane, select Associate existing identity.
  4. Select Search using email and search for your user’s Microsoft Entra ID email address.
  5. Select your Microsoft Entra ID user.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > POS setup > Devices.
  8. In the Devices list, select HOUSTON-14.
  9. Make sure that the Activation status is set to Pending. If it is not, edit the record and change the Activation status to Pending.
  10. Select the Cloud POS URL link.
  11. In the Activate Retail Cloud POS introduction screen, select Next.
  12. By using the guided navigation, make sure that the Server URL matches the URL for the Channel Profile’s Retail Server URL that is configured on the retail store. It should match the format: “https://....cloud.retail.dynamics.com/Commerce”.
  13. Select Next.
  14. Enter the username for the Microsoft Entra ID account that was used when you associated the identity to worker 000001.
  15. Select Next.
  16. Enter the password for the Microsoft Entra ID account.
  17. If prompted for the Store name, select HOUSTON.
  18. Select Next.
  19. Select HOUSTON-14: HOUSTON-14: Pending.
  20. In the Store Commerce Sign in screen, enter 000001 in the Operator ID field.
  21. Enter 123 in the Password field.
  22. Select Sign in.
