Identify relevant business concepts

Completed

When identifying business concepts that are relevant for building the design documentation for implementation, you need to consider a few important concepts that affect projects more often, such as the potential architecture and needs of the implementation.

You'll need to consider changes to the out-of-the-box system that is required for business processes, the size of the company and transactions throughout the year, seasonality and when your company is most active, and other information that is relevant to the business, and expectations.

It is important to be honest about numbers, possibilities, and information in this phase of the process because it will set you up for success. You are there to guide the business through the licenses, subscriptions, and technical requirements that they will need for the present and future.

Additional items to consider for development and design:

  • Projected go-live date
  • Number of vendors, customers, users, and so on
  • Existing network requirements and architecture
  • Industry standards
  • Technical competency of client resources
