Set up severity rule sets
Severity rule sets are used to automatically calculate the severity of the change order. When the system evaluates a severity, it processes the rules that are configured in the parameters.
To use severity rule sets, open the Parameters page and set the Severity rule field to Calculate or Calculate automatically.
Engineering change management > Setup > Engineering change management parameters
You can select rules to apply to the different severities that are set up. The system processes the rules in the order in which they appear on the page, from top to bottom.
To create a rule set, follow these steps:
Select New.
Select Severity from the drop-down list of severities that have been created.
Select Add in the Rules FastTab.
Select one of the rule choices from the Rule drop-down list:
Overall impact of the change
Route change
Attribute change
BOM change
Document change
