Pre-teaching skills

Completed

Before students enter the world, it's important to review certain concepts that come up during gameplay. Students need to understand these concepts before encountering them in the world. Review these four concepts with your students and discuss their meaning before starting gameplay.

  • Mindful breathing
  • Being present
  • Recognizing emotions
  • Accepting emotions

Tips for playing The Mindful Knight

  • The world is a one-way adventure. Once a player visits a challenge, they can't return and do it again.
  • Students may not be familiar with the camera feature in Minecraft Education. If you need some background for how it works, check out this page or this quick tip video: Learn to play: The camera
  • Don't sign the response journal book until the very end of the game. Once the book is signed, you can no longer edit it. Make sure you talk to every NPC (non-player character) in the world. They all have something important to say.
  • At the very end of the game, students need to place the journal on the stand. To review the book again, go to the back of the podium and right click to remove the book.
