Capabilities

With the help of Dynamics 365 Human Resources, you can monitor workforce availability based on the skill set required for each project. It also helps to ensure that employees receive the training they need to grow their skill set. Additionally, Human Resources performs the following activities that help you achieve your goals.

  • Workforce optimization: By using finance and operations apps integrated with Human Resources, you can optimize employee task distribution to meet quality, volume, and capacity requirements. The optimization process considers the skill set of employees defined in the Human Resources application. You can allocate resources in the Production control module of the Supply Chain Management application or the Project Operations application. The skills and certificates of the workers defined in the Human Resources application are referenced during this resource allocation process.

  • Skill management: The Human Resources application provides a list of skill set within the system with the current resources. Finance and operations apps generate a list of required skill set based on upcoming projects or work items. You can maintain the balance between the available and required skills by performing a skill gap analysis and a skills profile analysis. This process helps you to plan the training and hiring requirements.

  • Training and learning management: A skill gap analysis helps you to determine the training required to upskill the existing workforce. By using the Human Resources application, you can manage training events, track attendees, and monitor training completions.

  • Recruitment process: Handling the recruitment process is a key activity in your role. Human Resources helps you to organize the end-to-end recruitment process, including job requisition, sourcing, approval process, candidate referrals, and mass hiring.

  • Compensation plan: Human Resources provides a flexible compensation plan that can process fixed and variable payment structures powered by incentive, bonus, and stock options. You can calculate compensation for a specific period for all enrolled employees by taking into account the employee leave records.

  • Performance management: You can use the Human Resources app to monitor the goal-centric performance of employees. The system allows you to maintain performance review details, including managers’ feedback, which contributes to competency measurements and employee ratings.

  • Benefits management: Managing employee benefits is another key activity. The Human Resources application maintains all employee benefits information. This feature facilitates employee transactions, which include eligibility criteria, coverage plans, frequency-based benefits, or tier ratings.

  • Leave and absence: Human Resources provides a versatile framework to create leave plans and associate the plans with the worker. With the framework, workers can create workflow-enabled leave applications by using a self-service portal. You can also manage leave accrual and balance by using the application.
