Integrate Asset Management with Dynamics 365 Guides
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides HoloLens app is a mixed reality application that can be integrated with Asset Management and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. This integration provides workers a guide, or a checklist to learn how to accomplish their tasks. There is additional licensing that is required to use this feature. Using Dynamics 365 Guides does not require specific 3D or programming skills, to create the holographic instructions for workers to “learn as they do” with the Microsoft HoloLens. The guides provide heads-up, hands-free, step-by-step instructions for tasks such as a maintenance job type or work order that workers perform on assets.
You create a guide on your computer and define an outline for the steps, then use the HoloLens app to connect instruction cards and holograms in the workspace. To learn more about Dynamics 365 Guides, see Work with Dynamics 365 Guides.
To associate a guide, you use a maintenance checklist line in Asset management. You can create the association through a maintenance checklist template, a maintenance job type, or a work order, because all three contain maintenance checklist lines. You can save time by using a template, because a template can be associated with all the maintenance job types that use it.
For example, a guide that is associated with a maintenance job type is automatically associated with all work orders that specify that job type. On the other hand, a guide that is associated directly with a work order exists only for that work order.
You can also associate a guide directly in the maintenance checklist of a work order or a job type.
