Module 6 Overview

As you begin to teach this module get, familiar with what the students will learn during the module. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations empowers business users to adapt to rapidly changing business environments. It provides businesses with everything they need to manage the life cycle of a project - from project sales to invoicing and accounting. In this module, students will explore the project lifecycle within Project Operations for stocked/production order scenarios deployment type.

This module consists of two lessons:

  • Lesson 1 – Identify project life cycle management capabilities in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations
  • Lesson 2 – Explore the project planning and execution capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations

Module 6 Tips and Tricks

  • Explain project sales, contract, and pricing capabilities within Dynamics 365
  • Describe the capabilities to help optimize resource management, schedule management, and time and expense management for project-based businesses
  • Carefully define key concepts including what a project is and how it differs from products and services
  • For the project lifecycle explanation, it is a good idea to whiteboard the four project phases and encourage the class to suggest tasks that would belong in each stage
