In this module, you'll prepare your Microsoft 365 developer tenant to deploy Microsoft Teams Rooms. You'll create the tenant from scratch, change security related settings, and prepare Microsoft Teams Rooms specific tasks.

Scenario

In the lab of this course, you're taking the role of Joni Sherman, Contoso's new Teams Collaboration Communications System Engineer. You've been asked to prepare your organization's tenant for Microsoft Teams Rooms readiness, so that on-site technicians can install Microsoft Teams Rooms devices without any problems. The strategy is to start with Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic licenses and prepare for Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro in the future.

What will we be doing?

In this scenario, you'll use Microsoft Entra ID, other admin centers and PowerShell to:

  • Prepare the Microsoft 365 tenant for Teams meeting room deployment

  • Create dynamic groups following best practice

  • Disable multifactor authentication for Teams Meeting Room resource accounts

  • Configure room mailbox properties
